Cathulhu Online, MUNYA!

Chapter 209 – Cat Dad’s First Guild War (3)

GUILD WAR QUEST: NPC#0111 (1)

NPC#0111 was abducted here, and he is worried about his family. He only remembers that he is from Midgard, but he doesn’t remember anything else. He wants to go home.

Even though NPC#0111 is worrying about his family, he hasn’t eaten anything for days. If you can share something that he can eat, he will give you something nice.

Quest Objective: Give something for NPC#0111 to eat.

Failure Condition: NPC#0111 is dead.

Reward: 200 SP

Failure Penalty: None

*[Cathulhu Instinct]: Normal food isn’t going to cut it. Only the food that comes from this event world can fill his stomach.

*[Foresight]: Use the food that you purchased from the lobby’s vendors. A kilogram worth of food is enough.

When Xiaomao returned with NPC#0111, he immediately received the quest without talking to the guy.

Xiaomao shrugged as he had expected this. He was also ready for this silly quest.

In his previous life, 60% of the Guild War’s quests were related to food. It forced the participating guilds to build farms or food-generating buildings in their castle to complete these quests and get more SP.

However, there was a trick that the insiders and the game company had rigged for their faction members. PACT food that players could purchase in the lobby could be used in this situation as it had the same characteristic as the food in the war game – It filled one’s stomach, but it didn’t provide any bonus to the consumers.

Regular players treated them as luxurious food at first. But when they discovered the trick, all guilds frantically stocked up the food in preparation for war games and Guild War Events.

Although each PACT cost two dollars now, it would cost more in the future when the PACT’s price is inflated. He managed to scrap 500 tons worth of food and 100 tons of raw food.

Giving away a kilo to a homeless NPC was nothing!

The NPC got the food and brightly smiled.

<You have completed NPC#0111’s quest.>

<Your guild has obtained 200 SP.>

<Your guild has completed the first quest. Your guild has obtained 200 additional SP!>

<NPC#0111 has given your guild a quest.>

GUILD WAR QUEST: NPC#0111 (2)

NPC#0111’s ultimate goal is to return home. He asks you if you can build a teleportation device and send him home.

Quest Objective: Build a Teleportation Portal and send NPC#0111 to World Three

Failure Condition: NPC#0111 is dead.

Quest Reward: 500 SP

Failure Condition: None

*[Cathulhu Instinct]: Don’t get swayed by the quest chain. Remember – All quests are side jobs. Your primary objective is to either kill Liu Bei or capture Shu Han’s castle to win the match.

*[Foresight]: Ignore it. Don’t waste time and resources right now.

Xiaomao opened the guild menu and looked at the construction tab. The Teleportation Portal was one of the buildings that Xiaomao could purchase, but it cost 1,000 SP.

The investment wasn’t worth it. Even though this quest offered a way to get an indirect discount, Xiaomao was not into the teleportation play in the early game.

As the guild war quests were automatically taken, Xiaomao couldn’t refuse them. He let the quest sit in his guild’s quest tab for now and got back on his flying sword. Then, he rushed back toward Shu Han’s castle wall.

Because of Xiaomao’s third eye, his vision had a wider range than regular humans. Moreover, the world seemed slower when Xiaomao focused his attention on the third eye.

While flying at the speed of sound, the Xiaomao found the ranger, Abe, who was sprinting toward the nearest NPC. Seeing the opponent’s scout, Xiaomao smirked and changed the trajectory of his flying sword.

When the course was set, Xiaomao jumped off the flying sword and let it continue jetting forward.

BOOM

The flying sword stabbed into Abe’s chest and pushed him back 200 meters. He ended up getting pinned to the wall and died.

<FIRST BLOOD!>

<MUNYA Guild has obtained a 200 SP bonus!>

<NOTE: Your [Cathulhu Instinct] doesn’t work in official Guild War Events. You cannot increase your level here.>

Xiaomao cackled and brought out another common broad sword. He used the flying sword skill on it and turned the weapon into a new vehicle. Then, he grabbed the NPC that Abe was going after and brought him back to his base.

While flying home, Xiaomao looked back and saw Liu Bei, whose ugly expression could easily become a trending internet meme.

‘It’s stomp time! Oh, wait. I forgot about their level-999 characters. I need to start preparing for the cannon.’

Xiaomao turned around and entered his castle. He brought the NPC down and glanced at the latter’s level.

NPC#0766, Level 377

No wonder why Abe was going after this NPC. His high level indicated that they could get a lot of SP and bonuses by completing this guy’s quest.

When NPC%0766 got into the field behind the walls, the quest was generated.

GUILD WAR QUEST: NPC#0766 (1)

NPC#0766 is a collector, and he wants nothing more but a unique item. He is interested in you, who seem to be in possession of various ultra-rare items. He wonders if you could gift him something precious, and he will greatly reward you.

Quest Objective: Give NPC#0766 a super-rare or ultra-rare item.

Failure Objective: Refuse to give him any item.

Quest Rewards: Increase your Guild’s SP regeneration rate by 10 per second.

Failure Penalty: Your guild will stop generating SP for 10 seconds.

*[Cathulhu Instinct]: Of all people, you picked this thief. Oh, well. This NPC is actually a clone of a famous collector in World One. Maybe being on his good side is the right choice even if you have to sacrifice something.

*[Foresight]: Give him a skill book or a spell book, and your SP won’t be an issue. However, don’t give him any ultra-rare or legendary item since he will force disadvantageous quests on you after this if you ever give him one.

Xiaomao always appreciated Instinct-Senpai and Foresight Senpai. He heeded their advice and shoved an unused level-50 spellbook to him.

The NPC brightly smiled and took the spellbook.

<You have completed NPC#07666’s quest.>

<Your guild’s SP regeneration rate has been increased by 10 per second!>

Getting the booster, Xiaomao’s advantage was secured. Until the end of this match, his guild would have more resources to spend.

‘When you’re in the lead, be defensive. When you’re behind, be creative and bold!’

Xiaomao narrowed his eyes as he was weighing the pros and cons of continuing what he was doing earlier. His idea leaned toward the defensive strategy since he now had more resources.

However, the NPC suddenly shoved a new quest at him.

GUILD WAR QUEST: NPC#0766 (2)

This collector isn’t satisfied with just a super-rare-grade spellbook – He wants something more precious!

He can sniff it from you. He is sure that you have more priceless items, and he wants them!

Give it to him, or else!

Quest Objective: Give NPC#0766 any item that increases total combat stats by more than 1,000!

Failure Condition: NPC#0766 is dead.

Quest Reward: Double the current SP that your guild possesses.

Failure Penalty: Your SP will stop generating for 10 seconds.

‘This motherhumper!’

Xiaomao had the urge to kill the NPC. He rubbed his forehead, annoyed. Because of his frustration, he almost cussed out loud.

Before Xiaomao could curse the NPC to death, he remembered something related to curses and smiled from ear to ear.

“You want my strongest item, right? I have the right one for you, munya! Wait here!”

Xiaomao hopped on his flying sword and flew into the castle, leaving the NPC there.

The guild’s castle was a semi-maze. The throne room was on the fifth floor, but the stairs to the higher floors were separated – From the first floor, intruders had to reach the innermost area to find the path to the second floor. From the second floor to the third floor, intruders had to locate the hidden stairs or break through the main stairs at the west wing of the castle. Then, to the next floor, they had to travel to the east wing, and so on.

However, Xiaomao could fly. He bypassed the annoying paths and got to the fifth-floor balcony, where the king’s room was. Xiaomao opened the balcony doors and entered the king’s room.

Although it was known as the king’s room, this place was empty. Only a semi-transparent chest was located in the middle of the room.

This chest was the guild’s dimensional chest, where guild members could access their warehouses or stashes that they kept in NPC guilds, dungeons, or hidden locations.

Xiaomao searched for a certain bone item and brought it with him. Next, he flew back to NPC#0766.

When Xiaomao returned to the NPC, he looked at his guild menu to see his current SP.

900 SP!

Xiaomao could summon any merman to help him now. However, he had another idea. He shoved the bone necklace to the NPC.
