The Devil Does Not Need to Be Defeated

Chapter 235: Those Stalkers…

However, Shien wasn’t hurried either. He first dragged Lasha back to the Latrard home.

Lasha had kept the emotionless expression of hers on the entire time, obediently staying behind Shien at a distance of about three paces. She looked just like Shien’s loyal maid.

The two of them returned together to the Latrard home just like that.

Coincidentally, Airi happened to have left her room just then as well.

“I’m back…”

Shien greeted Airi.

However, Airi’s reaction to that was rather strange.

“Hau…”

The moment the girl saw Shien, she suddenly shook for some unknown reason and froze right there.

“Little Airi?”

Seeing Airi acting like that, Shien called her by a strange name.

However, not only did Airi not react, she instead continued to stay frozen. She started blushing slightly and her face was unbelievably stiff. It’s like she remembered something unbearable, and she had completely lost her calm.

Shien was quite worried, and so he took a few steps toward her.

Then, as if it’s an involuntary reaction, Airi also backed off a few steps.

“…”

Shien fell silent.

“…”

Airi finally came back to herself, and she also turned silent.

A bit later, Shien once again approached her.

In response, Airi continued to retreat.

“… What are you doing?”

Shien’s mouth twitched.

However, his question only got a single reply.

“You’re not allowed to say anything, nor are you allowed to ask. For now, don’t come close to me, got it?”

Airi glared at Shien with a slight blush on her face. While she warned Shien off like that, she was also looking at Shien with a strange expression.

Shien could read what that expression meant.

It’s because he could read it that Shien’s mind broke a bit.

Freaking hell, did he do anything?

He didn’t do anything, right?

So then why is she looking at him like he’s a beast!? (╯‵□′)╯︵┻━┻

With a slightly collapsed mental state, Shien wanted to properly question Airi some.

He didn’t notice at all that, behind him, when Lasha saw Airi, her gem like eyes started wavering.

And Airi had also noticed Lasha’s existence.

“You…”

Airi looked at Lasha, stunned.

“Your majesty.”

At that moment, Lasha stepped forward and kneeled down in a proper greeting.

Its one where both knees touched the ground.

It’s not the type where a retainer greets ones lord, but something that someone of a lower class would use when they see someone of a much higher position than them.

When she saw that, Airi went silent.

Shien also stopped for a moment.

“Your majesty?”

That’s what Lasha called Airi.

Obviously, Lasha knows of Airi’s identity.

As for Airi, she seems to know who Lasha is as well.

“… Is she that Leisha brat’s maid?”

Airi was silent for some time. When she opened her mouth again, the redness on her cheeks had already faded, and in its place was a cold blankness.

“Yes.” Lasha spoke quietly while lowering her head, “The one I serve is indeed named Leisha.”

“I could see it with just a look.” Airi spoke with a somewhat sarcastic tone for some reason, “After all, you two look completely identical.”

In response, Lasha stayed silent.

On the side, Shien looked at Airi with some surprise.

It’s because he had noticed that Airi’s mental state seemed a bit off.

It’s different from her off state from a moment ago.

A moment ago, while Airi’s attitude toward him was off, Shien could notice that there are certain reasons not to be spoken to outsiders for it.

But now, Airi’s off state is purely that her emotions, mental state, and even mind was in chaos.

Especially when she saw Leisha get down on both knees to her. When that happened, Airi had a moment where she almost took a step back.

This was also different from when she backed off from Shien earlier.

Back when she was facing Shein, Airi was just guarded and embarrassed.

When facing Lasha though, Airi showed a hint of panic instead, as if she couldn’t accept Lasha kneeling to her before forcibly stopping herself from reacting.

This told Shien that there seems to be something he doesn’t know about involved with the situation.

Unfortunately for him though, Airi had no intention of explaining.

“Running abouit on your own rather than staying with your master. Are you not afraid of getting taken away by the humans?”

Airi continued to speak sarcastically toward Lasha.

Thinking about it more carefully, those words aren’t unreasonable.

After all, Leisha is one of the people who infiltrated the Capital along with the Old Demon Faction, and she’s still a wanted person by the Kingdom.

Lasha looks completely identical to Leisha, so for her to daringly move about in the Capital without Leisha around is practically suicide.

Is she was with Leisha, then the presence of that powerful demon race mage will make it hard for anyone to actually do anything to her.

But since Leisha isn’t around, Lasha moving about on her own outside is nothing more than suicide.

Previously, Leisha had already mentioned it. That unlike Leisha, Lasha doesn’t have any powers at all. She’s just a normal maid.

At the time, Shien only half believed those words. Now that he’s learned the max leveled [Appraisal] skill though, he could now confirm that it was indeed the truth.

Lasha is only level 5, and she doesn’t have a single skill.

Thus, Lasha truly is a complete weakling.

For someone like that to walk around outside in the Capital while bearing the same face as a wanted criminal?

Shien was even starting to question just how he was able to successfully meet Lasha at all.

Lasha on the other hand paid it no mind whatsoever.

“I am merely following milady’s instructions, seeking out Mister Shien after her disappearance.”

Lasha spoke those words without any emotion.

“Disappearance?”

Airi immediately frowned and looked over at Shien.

“Don’t look at me like that. I don’t know what’s going on either.” Shien immediately replied, “I only met her and found out about this just now myself. I haven’t even had a chance to ask her for more details yet.”

Airi understood the situation now.

“It seems like you guys have gotten into some trouble.” Airi gave Lasha a glance, “Let me hear it as well then. Just what happened.”

Lasha didn’t particularly react to that.

Shien on the other hand raised an eyebrow.

“What? You’re interested?” Shien asked, “Do you know Lasha then?”

“We’ve met once.” Airi spoke faintly, “After you dealt with the Old Demon Faction lead by Baydr, I met the person named Leisha. However, we split up after I decided to come to the Capital.”

Oh. Something else that he didn’t know about.

From the looks of it, both Airi and Leisha had been following him since before he arrived at the Capital huh?

Those stalkers. Why’d they have to go copying Melika of all people?

It’s best if they could instead learn from her ability to give herself away like that instead.

When that time comes, he’ll enjoy all their services or he’s not a Hero.
